How does Specset work with Autodesk Forma Build?

Specset (formerly Specbook AI) syncs submittals, RFIs, and documents with Autodesk Forma Build (formerly Autodesk Build), reviews each submittal against the governing spec and the drawings, and responds to the mapped review task (Autodesk Build integration). When a review is finalized, Specset can also create an issue with the review summary and spreadsheet. The design team makes the final disposition 4. Use Forma Build alone for logging and routing; add Specset when each package needs a cited technical check.

What does Specset sync with Forma Build?

Specset syncs submittals, RFIs, and documents both ways with a linked Forma Build project, and publishes Specset specifications and sheets to it (Autodesk Build integration). Specset's docs note that Forma Build does not expose the files behind its specification sections and drawing sheets, so to bring specs and drawings into Specset you sync the folders that hold the PDFs 5.

Where does Specset sit in the Forma Build submittal review?

Specset responds to the mapped review task and can create or update an issue with the review summary and XLSX when the review is finalized (integrations). With "Review automatically" on, a submittal that arrives or changes starts a review, and the findings show up in the Issues tool with the rest of the project 5.

What does Forma Build keep doing?

Forma Build keeps the submittal log, review routing, RFIs, and specifications, and Specset adds the technical review of each package (Autodesk Build integration). Autodesk's Forma Build page lists "customizable review workflows" for submittals and AutoSpecs, which "analyzes specification documents and automatically generates submittal logs in minutes" 6.

Did the rename from Autodesk Build to Forma Build change the Specset integration?

Autodesk says its March 2026 rename of Autodesk Build to Forma Build does not affect existing integrations or APIs, and Specset syncs with Forma Build projects today (Autodesk's announcement). The announcement renamed Autodesk Construction Cloud to Autodesk Forma and Autodesk Build to Forma Build, and says "any automations, integrations or APIs currently in place will not be affected" 7; Specset's sync is described in its docs 5.

What does each system do?

Forma Build runs the submittal log, review routing, and RFIs, and Specset adds a cited technical review of each package; the table splits the jobs by what each company publishes (integrations).
