How do you use Specset with Procore and Claude?
Specset pulls project data from Procore. Claude, or another MCP client, works with that data through Specset's Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Claude does not open a Procore MCP connection of its own.

What does Specset pull from Procore?
Where the Procore integration is enabled, Specset pulls submittals, RFIs, documents, specifications, and drawings from the linked Procore project (Procore sync settings) 1. Procore stays the system of record. On federal tenants, the Procore and Autodesk integrations are off and the record stays on Specset.
How does Claude use that data?
Claude uses the Specset plugin. The plugin installs the Claude plugin skills and a native MCP connector, powered by the Specset CLI 2 5. Claude searches the specs, drawings, submittals, and RFIs in Specset. The connector talks to Specset.
The July 30, 2026 changelog describes the same plugin for Claude and Codex: shared skills, native MCP tools, and sign-in through the CLI. The plugin defaults to read-only work and asks before it changes project data 4.
What about other MCP clients?
Codex uses the same local plugin and CLI. ChatGPT connects to Specset's hosted MCP endpoint at app.specset.com/mcp instead, so it uses the same tool registry without a path on your computer (ChatGPT and Codex) 3. Customers already use Specset this way.
